On Aug. 25, 2998, Council of Holy Trinity voted to accept the following as the official “Open and Affirming” statement for the Church.
Holy Trinity United Church of Christ’s
Official Open and Affirming” statement
“The Congregation of Holy Trinity United Church of Christ believes that each person is unique and valuable. It is the will of God that every person belongs to a family of faith in which they have a strong sense of being valued and loved. We are a faith community which is challenged and enriched by the presence and gifts of people of various ages, colors, ethnic backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities. We understand that each of us is at a different stage of our faith journey.”
“As a result, in Gods love, we have adopted an Open and Affirming (ONA) resolution welcoming gay, lesbian, transgender, and bisexual people to participate fully in the life, leadership and employment of our church now and in the future. Our ONA commitment is one aspect of our belief that God's love, Christ's church, and the Spirit's power are for everyone!”
